GENERAL | ALL PERMANENT MAKEUP PROCEDURES

2 to 1 Month before:

    • No Botox or any fillers (4 weeks)
    • STOP using retinol (retinA, anti-aging creams, glycolic acid, salicylic or lactic acid, acne products creams, brows, or lash growth serums) (8 weeks)
    • No facial or peelings (4 weeks)
    • No tanning or intense sun exposure (4 weeks)

One Week before:

    • No tinting, waxing or electrolysis
    • No Vitamin E
    • No Fish Oil

24 hours before:

    • If you are an active smoker, you should avoid smoking 24 hours before your procedure. This will guarantee pigment retention.
    • It is very important to refrain from all alcohol, aspirin, or aspirin products, such as blood thinners. (Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Aleve, or any Nsaids)
    • Please avoid energy drinks and coffee for up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. Not having caffeine in your system will help you to relax much more easily, as well as help to relax the facial muscles in the areas we will be working on.

ALL of these make you bleed excessively (including vitamin E and fish oil).  Excessive bleeding during the procedure will negatively affect the longevity of your semi-permanent makeup application. In some cases, the procedure will need to be prematurely stopped and re-scheduled.

LIP PRE-CARE

For lip blush clients, please stay well-hydrated prior to the appointment! This is very important because hydration will affect the skin’s ability to accept pigment more than anything. The following list contains helpful do’s and do not’s in the days and weeks prior to your service:

  • Get a Valtrex prescription if you have ever had a cold sore and take it in the 7-10 days leading up to the initial procedure and follow-up. Lysine is recommended otherwise
  • Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face
  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners)
  • Do not drink alcohol 24 – 48 hours before your tattoo
  • Do not consume caffeine the day of your procedure
  • Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)
  • Exfoliate and moisturize the lips in the week leading up to the service. Chapped lips cannot be tattooed effectively

There are not many visual changes eyeliner goes through in the healing process except it may get lighter for a short time.
